The Steller's Jay is a bird native to western North America, closely related to the "blue jay". It is the only crested jay west of the Rocky Mountains.

An excellent mimic with a large repertoire, the Steller's Jay can imitate birds, squirrels, cats, dogs, chickens, and some mechanical objects.

During courtship, the Steller Jay male feeds the female.
